Ilya Teodorovich Kasavin is a specialist in the theory of knowledge, philosophy of science, modern German and American philosophy; Doctor of Philosophy (1990), Chief Researcher of the Sector of the Theory of Knowledge of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (until 2000), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (since 2003), Head of the Department of Philosophy of the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (since 2016). Since 1983, he has been working at the Institute of Philosophy, organizing and heading the Sector of Social Epistemology (since 2005). Editor-in-chief of the quarterly journal of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences «Epistemology and Philosophy of Science» (since 2004) and editor-in-chief of the journal «The Digital Scholar. Laboratory of a Philosopher» (since 2016).
